The Franco-Prussian War of 1870-1871 in the relations of Krakow "Time"

The basis of this work is the Cracow newspaper "Time" - as a witness extremely important in terms of global conflict. S Journal has been selected by the author of the work as the best source to study Polish (partitions) opinion on the war. This work should be treated as one part of a wider development that addresses the relationship to war, not only the Galicians, but also Poles from other partitions, and those forced to emigrate. Relations Poznan, Warsaw and Paris will be raised in this paper, but they definitely require a separate study. Inexperienced historian, which is the author of this work, hopes that such material - including all the attitude of Poles to the war, sees the light of day soon. The selected source will allow us to know the opinions of western Galicia on the important for the world war. Also answer your publications on the subjects intriguing. Certainly pay attention to what are the sympathies, as Galicians feel their position against the war events. However, it will be important as discussed in the perspective of conflict can shape file: Europe, Galicia, and divided and distributed the "Polish". At once it must be noted that we will not try to reconstruct the war. So do not worry that the reader can get bogged down in a tangle of countless battles. Relacje z Poznania, Warszawy czy Paryża będą zasygnalizowane w niniejszej pracy, jednak zdecydowanie wymagają one osobnych studiów. Niedoświadczony historyk, jakim jest autor tej pracy, liczy, że taki materiał – obejmujący stosunek wszystkich Polaków do wojny, ujrzy w niedługim czasie światło dzienne. Wybrane źródło pozwoli nam poznać opinie zachodnio-galicyjską na temat ważnej dla świata wojny. Odpowie również swoimi publikacjami na tematy intrygujące. Zwrócimy uwagę na pewno na to jakie są sympatie, jak odczuwają Galicjanie swoje położenie na tle wydarzeń wojennych. Niemniej ważne będzie jak omawiany konflikt może w perspektywie ukształtować sprawy: Europy, Galicji oraz podzielonej i rozproszonej „Polski”. Od razu też zaznaczyć należy, że nie będziemy się starali zrekonstruować tej wojny. Nie więc obaw aby czytelnik mógł ugrzęznąć w gąszczu niezliczonych potyczek. Znając też, z poprzednich konfliktów, praktyki propagandowe różnych państw w stanie wojny – zrezygnowaliśmy z powoływania się na dane liczbowe drukowane przez oba sztaby. Nie wytrzymują one w większości konfrontacji z literaturą. Do krytycznej analizy tekstu źródłowego niestety autor nie zastał warunków komfortowych. Cała literatura w języku polskim, obejmująca całość konfliktu to…ledwie dwie pozycje. Chciałbym też zaznaczyć, że Komuna Paryska dla autora jest już zupełnie innym konfliktem – dlatego też nie jest tutaj rozpatrywana. Co do ubogości materiałów do tej wojny w języku polskim zauważyć należy pewien paradoks. Mianowicie jeszcze poprzednia wojna z 1866 roku, doczekała się wielu opracowań w tym jedną tuż po swoim zakończeniu. Chodzi tutaj o dzieło Wojna austriacko-pruska, notabene znakomite, napisane już w 1868 roku przez byłego powstańca generała Jarosława Dąbrowskiego. Natomiast omawiana wojna doczekała się raptem dwóch polskich wydań od razu dodajmy, że już dość leciwych. Chodzi tu o przekład z francuskiego: Wojna francusko-pruska 1870-1871 majora Antoniego Bogusławskiego z 1925 roku oraz, opatrzone nieco poglądami społecznymi autora, dzieło Fryderyka Engelsa Wojna francusko-niemiecka 1870-1871 wydana w naszym języku w 1951 roku. Przyznać należy, że są to pozycje dobre, dlatego też posłużą one do konfrontowania publicystyki źródła. Taka sytuacja zmusiła autora do korzystania z literatury anglojęzycznej oraz uzupełnienia wiedzy pozycjami, w których wojna nie zawsze jest tematem głównym. We „Wstępie” chciałbym też krótko przybliżyć historie „Czasu”, dlatego też ostatnim aspektem, który tu rozwinę, będzie kwestia obrazu samej wojny w publikacjach. W tym temacie będę starał się znaleźć odpowiedź na kilka dalszych pytań. Mianowicie: czy jest podany charakter wojny, a jeśli tak to w jaki sposób? Jak go ujęto, jak skomentowano? Następnie postaram się też oddać stopień zaangażowania emocjonalnego relacjonujących wypadki wojenne, aby poprzez wnikliwą analizę publikacji i literatury odpowiedzieć: na ile relacje „Czasu” maja charakter obiektywny? Nie zostanie pominięty też aspekt politycznego przekazu, umieszczonego świadomie bądź nie świadomie w publikacjach. Pozostała część „Wstępu” pozostawię krótkiej historii mojego źródła, po czym postaram się wprowadzić czytelnika w sytuacje międzynarodową przed wybuchem konfliktu. Całość zaś pracy jest również bogato opatrzona przypisami i komentarzami znanych autorów. Dzięki tej pracy możemy poznać dzieje zarówno samej wojny, jak publicystów, którzy o niej pisali. Polecam j
